Facelift for a Grand Home

The owners of this prominent property first noticed areas of deterioration on their interior walls. As they considered what to do, they also decided that the exterior of the home “looked like hell,” and if those things weren’t enough, there were drainage issues near the front entrance. Time to call in the experts.

“We hadn’t realized how significant and necessary it was to have our facade tuckpointed.”

These homeowners really wanted expert advice. Their home meant a lot to them and so did the quality standards expected within the Historic District of Capitol Hill. We were able to assess the various needs — interior wall damage, drainage around the front steps and walkway, and the crumbling condition of the very old mortar joints in the facade. We provided them with a detailed report on our findings and a proposal for what we could do to make everything right. Then we talked them through it, answering all their questions.

“Living in a Historic District, we knew that we needed a contractor with specific tuckpointing expertise. Renaissance was the company that had the most impressive qualifications and had the body of work to back up their claims.”
